Just a few days ago, Angel Reese took the internet by storm when she flaunted a sizzling outfit which turned heads for many fans. While her post on Instagram gained much traction, it seems like some of the backlash following the post has affected Reese, who chose to deactivate her Instagram account just a couple of days after the Internet swooned over her style.

The 22-year-old Chicago Sky forward turned heads with a daring mocha-colored, animal-print gown featuring a high-leg slit and cut-out design. While the outfit drew praise from many quarters, it also triggered some criticism that may have ultimately led to Angel Reese’s unexpected social media hiatus, the duration of which is not known.

Although her Instagram account is gone, Reese remains active on TikTok and X, where fans have shown overwhelming support. Her TikTok videos, including clips of her New Year’s Eve look, continue to garner positive attention, as many fans have gravitated towards her accounts on those apps to show support for the young Chicago star.

Despite the backlash over her outfits, the Chi-Town Barbie will look forward to a big come-up next season. Angel Reese was among the frontrunners, alongside fellow rival Caitlin Clark, to win the much-vaunted Rookie of the Year award in her debut season in the WNBA before suffering a season-ending wrist injury which caused her to miss the back end of the Chicago Sky’s season.

Angel Reese gears up to play in Unrivaled 3×3 League

Despite the social media buzz, Angel Reese has her eyes set on the court as she prepares to play in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled 3×3 league. The league, co-founded by Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, is set to kick off on January 14th. With guaranteed earnings of $250,000 for its eight-week duration, the league has attracted some of the biggest names in the game, including Reese.

The league’s format, which pits six-player teams against each other in 3×3 games, is set to be a major competitor to global basketball leagues. allowing WNBA stars to stay within the US during the offseason. Reese will play for the Rose Basketball Club alongside stars like Chelsea Gray, Kahleah Copper, and Brittney Sykes, under the guidance of assistant coach Nola Henry of the Los Angeles Sparks.

Although some of the WNBA’s bigger names, such as Caitlin Clark and reigning MVP A’ja Wilson, chose to forego lucrative contracts to play in the Unrivalled league, Reese will become one of the biggest stars to headline the inaugural edition of the event. As she recently stated, her experience playing in a 3×3 will polish her skillset and sharpen her individual skills on the offensive end of the floor.
