“Deal, if I fight you first,” says Jake Paul- if Khabib Nurmagomedov wants the Youtuber-boxer in Eagle FC

Jake Paul- Khabib Nurmagomedov

Looks like Jake Paul is going to have opportunities of a lifetime if he ever decides to start preparing for his first professional MMA fight, and the opportunities seem to be of high prestige as well, considering it’s coming from people like undefeated, retired mixed martial artist Khabib Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov fought for one last time back in October 2020 when he defeated Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 via second-round submission.

Since then, Nurmagomedov is busy leading a life of a coach, and an MMA promoter! In November 2020, Nurmagomedov brought local Russian MMA promotion Eagle FC to turn it into an international platform of competition for a number of fighters. At this point, Nurmagomedov has signed UFC Hall of Famer Rashad Evans and former UFC Lightweight Kevin Lee. Other than that, Khabib is up for signing big names which includes the likes of someone like Youtuber turned boxer Jake Paul.

Yesterday, Jake Paul let UFC President Dana White know on Twitter about the weight cutting situation amongst the MMA athletes which deteriorates the nutritional value of their body and depletes their overall health as well. He cited UFC megastar Conor McGregor as an example of someone who fights at 155 lbs but walks at 190 lbs.

Khabib took an opportunity from Paul’s interest in fighting MMA soon and therefore put a comment below Paul’s aforementioned tweet and said “the doors of @EagleFightClub always open for you and your team.”

Paul played a reverse card on Khabib’s attitude and therefore found an opportunity for himself in that situation. He proposed “deal. only if I fight you first.” Considering the fact that Khabib has retired from the sport of MMA due to the demise of his coach, his father, the great Abdulmanap Numragomedov, it’s certain he will not fight again.

Somewhere, it seems like Paul wants to do something that no one could and therefore put on a name for himself in MMA in 2022 just like he did in boxing in 2021. He aims to bring Khabib back out of retirement, something which was attempted to be done by his rivals and UFC President Dana White time and again.

What do you make of the entire situation? Do you think Jake Paul will get his MMA debut against the great Khabib Nurmagomedov in order for the latter to make the former fight in Eagle FC? What do you make of Paul’s future as a mixed martial artist? Irrespective of the promotion, who do you think is the right opponent for Paul’s MMA debut?
