Last season, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs started off with a solid receiver group. But once the injury bug bit them, they had to dig into the trade market, which eventually netted them DeAndre Hopkins. Naturally, he was motivated at the chance of creating history and winning his first Super Bowl.
Up until the AFC Championship game, it looked as if Hopkins was solid enough to help move the chains, even if he was not his former spectacular self. But in total, the Chiefs’ offense was not spectacular. So, in many ways, there is no way to know how he would have fared if he had a full offseason under his belt.
Eventually, that lackluster offensive scheme showed its ugly side when Hopkins and his new teammates struggled mightily in the first half of Super Bowl LIX. After the game, he complained about officials not looking their way.
However, fans and those in the media knew it was just excuses for their horrendous play. It is not known if that played into this latest update shared by Adam Schefter.
But considering how badly they were thumped by the Philadelphia Eagles, those complaints fell on deaf ears. Football fans and those in the media were marveling at what the new champions did. At the same time, they also noticed that the Chiefs were nowhere near good.

This means DeAndre Hopkins is essentially jumping ship from one two-time MVP in Patrick Mahomes to another two-time MVP in Lamar Jackson. However, he is joining the Baltimore Ravens with a full offseason ahead of him.
Fans shake their heads at DeAndre Hopkins Ravens move
Football fans know all too well that veteran stars tend to switch teams towards the end of their careers to try and win a Super Bowl. When it was the New England Patriots dynasty, several Hall of Famers joined them on bargain basement contracts in order to win a ring.

A similar situation was developing with the Kansas City Chiefs and DeAndre Hopkins was at the forefront of it. Now, he possibly understands the Chiefs have to improve a lot, therefore fans believe he jumped ship to a team that is hungry. Check out examples of those comments below.

DeAndre Hopkins will turn 33 by the time the next season starts. He has lost a step but still has those glue-like hands and all the intelligence a five-time Pro Bowler possesses. But fans believe he could have stayed loyal to the Chiefs who gave him a chance at a winning culture.
Chiefs’ struggles possibly prompted move to Ravens
One must remember that the Philadelphia Eagles thumped the most recent back-to-back Super Bowl champions in front of the world. Their players might talk about that loss lighting a spark inside them. At the same time, fans and media also noticed that the Chiefs were not as good as advertised.
It is possible that DeAndre Hopkins, with all the experience under his belt, saw that it was better to move. On one hand, he was facing a questionable future Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy, likely to lead the receiving group.
But with the Baltimore Ravens, he gets to at least be a solid second option at receiver. On a team that lacks true veteran leadership, the South Carolina native can be that leader. Moreover, he knows that Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and the rest of the Ravens are hungry to win it all.
