The San Francisco 49ers finally traded wide receiver, Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders in return for a fifth-round pick in 2025. After a strained relationship with the head coach Kyle Shanahan and an unfavorable year, the wideout had requested a trade.

The Washington Commanders is now the centerpiece of every franchise’s jealousy. After a refashioned identity under Dan Quinn and a rookie franchise quarterback Jayden Daniels, the Commanders marched into their first conference championship in decades. The addition of Deebo Samuel adds a more dangerous quotient to the rising NFC East team.

There have been a couple of teams in the hunt for Deebo Samuel including the Houston Texans. However, the Dallas Cowboys have been silent once again in the initial phases of the restructuring and planning for the new year.

Skip Bayless, a controversial figure and a lifelong Dallas fan noticed the absence of Dallas Cowboys in pursuing a talent like Samuel to enrich their roster. In a fueled rant on his podcast, Skip Bayless commented that a division rival with the added power of Daniels with Samuel doesn’t bode well for the Cowboys.

I don’t know if you care anymore, but your in-division rival just went out and stole Deebo Samuel. Flat out stole him from San Francisco for a fifth-round pick, Jerry [Jones]. He’s gonna be playing for a contract next year. He wanted out of San Francisco and now he’s going to be on his best behavior with people he knows and loves in Washington. You’re going to have to deal with Deebo Samuel twice a year with Jayden Daniels. It’s exactly what the doctor ordered for the Commanders. When he is right, he is scary.

The rise of Philadelphie Eagles and Washington Commanders – with the duo meeting in the conference championship creates a major problem for the Cowboys. Skip Bayless highlighted an issue that they need to deal head-on if they are to win or at least make their first conference game in three decades.

Dallas Cowboys focusing on Cooper Kupp as Jerry Jones tried to troubleshoot last year

The Dallas Cowboys have been named a team to watch in the pursuit of former Triple Crown-winning wide receiver Cooper Kupp, according to NFL insider Dan Graziano.

The Cowboys will be in the market for a No. 2 receiver behind CeeDee Lamb. They have some hope that Jonathan Mingo, their trade-deadline acquisition from Carolina, can evolve into that, but obviously, it’s too soon to know.

Dan Graziano reported

The decision could shoulder some of the weight that the Dallas front office has been receiving since the Deebo Samuel trade last week. Earlier, the Dallas Cowboys’ decision to admit a minimal impactful player and surrender a fourth-rounder also received similar scrutiny.

As for Kupp, the Cowboys could become serious contenders if his price drops to a more manageable level. “They could end up being a Cooper Kupp suitor if his price drops far enough,” Graziano added.

However, Dallas’ ability to make a move will depend on its financial flexibility. The Dallas Cowboys cried financial woes last year when they skipped on Derrick Henry who went on to rush for more than 1900 yards in the regular season.
