(Video) Deebo Samuel’s costly drops against Packers are a reminder he is not Terrell Owens
Despite being the senior receiver in the 49ers team, Deebo Samuel dropped passes like a rookie during 49ers loss against Packers.

San Francisco 49ers fans wanted a reply from Deebo Samuel after Hall of Famer Terrell Owens called him out due to the series of bad performances from the wide receiver. However, it was the same old story on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.
Ten minutes into the third quarter, the Packers led the game 7-17 when quarterback Brandon Allen threw a dot at Deebo Samuel. He got clear of his markers and looked certain to catch the ball for a few yards.
However, Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady watched in utter shock as the ball went through the usually secured hands of Samuel. To make matters worse, the ball landed straight into the waiting arms of interception merchant Xavier McKinney, who carried the ball inside the 49ers’ twenty.

In the following drive, the Packers led by quarterback Jordan Love connected with running back Josh Jacobs for a one-yard walk-in touchdown (Jacobs’ second of the game).

Jacobs added a third five minutes into the fourth quarter. Love finished the Niners off after creating a touchdown for Malik Heath in the last moments of the game. The fixture ended 10-38, and the Packers improved on their record 8-3, while the 49ers, with back-to-back losses, remain rooted to the bottom of the NFC West (5-6).
Deebo Samuel is experiencing his worst-ever campaign as a 49ers player
The best receiver on the night for the 49ers was tight end George Kittle, who caught six passes for 82 yards and scored one touchdown. Compared to Kittle, Samuel only caught one pass for 21 yards.
It has been the same for the former second-round pick. He recently claimed the 2024 season is the worst of his career since entering the NFL.
He further added that there will always be people to pass negative comments, but he can’t let it affect him. However, he shouldn’t count legendary 49ers WR Terrell Owens’ words in a negative light.
Owens’ words did nothing to improve Samuel’s form in the Packers game. If the losses keep piling up, then the 49ers should kiss the playoffs goodbye for this year.
