It appears Coach Prime has finally cracked the code to coach the Colorado Buffaloes to the Big 12. His debut season ended poorly with a 4-8 record despite having a quarterback projected to be the No. 1 draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

During a recent press conference, Deion Sanders revealed his strategy for the coming season starting next month, which is to give quarterback Shedeur Sanders the utmost priority and protect him on the football field at all costs.

We got to protect that quarterback. That's No. 1.

Last season, the biggest mistake by the Buffaloes was not having a proper game plan to protect the starting quarterback Shedeur from the opposing defense. As a result, he ended up becoming the most sacked quarterback in the country with a count of 52.

With the quarterback down, the entire offensive line collapsed and compelled the team to bring in Phil Loadholt as the new line coach.

Coach Prime believes Colorado’s O-line has improved due to significant NFL attention

This season, with the addition of many talented players, Coach Prime believes their offensive line has improved significantly. Most importantly, the team has learned from past mistakes and is committed to protecting their quarterback at all costs.

What makes it easy to connect with offensive line? Having the best darn quarterback in college football. Who don’t want to come and block for the best quarterback in college football? You got to be a fool if you say, ‘I don’t want to be seen.’

The two-time Super Bowl champion also claimed that one of the major reasons why Colorado was able to add many new offensive players is because they can get more exposure and attention here

He highlighted that around 32 NFL scouts are expected to be at the Buffaloes’ practice sessions every week to see the projected top picks (Shedeur and Travis Hunter). Furthermore, Deion added that it’s rather common sense for any lineman to be part of such a team and not miss on such an opportunity to charm the NFL scouts.
