The Colorado Buffaloes scored a splashy victory in week 3 by dominating the football field since the first quarter and not allowing their opponents to score beyond nine points. However, that wasn’t the only happening part of Sunday’s game.

The Colorado State Rams went viral over their quarterback’s trash-talking aimed at the star cornerback Travis Hunter despite the latter being in the lead at 14-3. Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi was arguably trying to get under the skin of the opposing defense by calling Hunter “too small through hand gestures. However, it backfired very quickly and the quarterback ended up being intercepted by Hunter.

Head coach Deion Sanders viewed the whole thing from the sideline perspective before halftime. When he was asked about it, he didn’t hold back from calling Fowler-Nicolosi’s action stupid without making any sense, whatsoever.

How stupid is that,” exclaimed Sanders in the post-game press conference about the “too small” gesture by the CSU quarterback.

Dude, this is Travis Hunter… Like who does that? But when you allow kids to sit in an interview and talk against us. And you just got beat by 50-something in Week 1. C'mon dog.

Sanders also claimed that he would highly advise his children, Shedeur and Shilo not to make such missteps. He also highlighted that this kind of behavior has never been seen in any sport, which he could recall, nor it has been allowed since it’s quite stupid to trash-talk a star player of Hunter’s caliber in such a way.

Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi’s trash talk backfires in 28-9 loss to Colorado

Lately, the CSU’s signal-caller Fowler-Nicolosi has been on the radar of the Buffaloes. He asserted that the Buffaloes had a “rude, rude awakening” in a conversation with CBS Colorado’s Romi Bean, following their humiliating last week’s loss against Nebraska.

He taunted them for being more obsessed over social media than actually with their game. However, after his team sustained the poor 28-9 loss, Fowler-Nicolosi seems to have lost his credibility.

In the very next moment of the victory, the Rams quarterback was humbled by Shedeur Sanders, who warned Fowler-Nicolosi about disrespecting the Buffaloes. Fortunately for him, both the teams wouldn’t be facing off against each other until 2029, which gives the Colorado State a lengthy period to rebuild themselves to outperform the Buffs.
