The Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders has been involved in more conversations as the NFL Draft inches closer. Recently, Deion Sanders has made it clear that he believes his son, Shedeur Sanders, is the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft class.

Deion Sanders had earlier claimed that he has spoken to certain clubs where he doesn’t want his son playing. While Sanders chose not to reveal the clubs, he addressed that as a dad, he takes an active interest in driving his son in the right direction. He had also rebuked the claims of Shedeur Sanders being drafted as low as the ninth pick, potentially landing in the New Orleans Saints.

“He’s never had the best of, but he’s made the best of. So I think he’s the most qualified by far,” Deion Sanders said.

Shedeur Sanders. along with Cam Ward are two of the most highly ranked quarterbacks in a high demand-less supply NFL Draft. The top three picks have been grappling with quarterback issues and need backup options and franchise quarterbacks established immediately.

Aside from his talents. as the son of an NFL Hall of Famer, Shedeur has grown up with elite mentorship. He has even received advice from legendary quarterback Tom Brady. Although his background makes it easier, it is not to push aside his performances on the field. He has consistently demonstrated the ability to lead an offense, distribute the ball efficiently, and perform under pressure.

What’s better than a quarterback who can gain yards through the air? One who can gain ground yards as well- as per circumstances, thereby developing more play options.

However, Shedeur Sanders plays more like a traditional pocket passer. He focuses on precision, quick decision-making, and reading defenses. His ability to stand tall in the pocket and deliver accurate throws makes him an ideal fit for a structured offensive system.

His skills were recognized when he won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award. This award is given to the top senior quarterback who shows leadership and passing ability. Though he may not have an elite arm, he makes up for it with intelligence, timing, and anticipation. His ability to manipulate defenses is another strength that makes him a top prospect.

Shedeur Sanders, similar to any rookie, has areas he has to improve coming into the professional leagues. There’s added pressure and extra ammo to win. Sanders will need to work on his release speed, as NFL defenses close passing windows much quicker than in college. Perhaps, he could take advantage of the tech that Jayden Daniels has been using.

He also tends to hold onto the ball for too long at times, trying to make the perfect play. While his confidence is a great asset, it can also lead to unnecessary sacks. In a crisp, Sanders will need to adapt himself to the pace of the professional gridiron as millions look in, waiting to jump on any mistakes.
