Even though Jerry Jones has spoken positively about Mike McCarthy, implying that he would renew his contract for a sixth season, the Dallas Cowboys owner is officially through with his head coach. The best person that came to his mind was fan favorite Deion Sanders, following his successful run in Colorado Buffalos. But does Coach Prime wants to return to his former team remains a big question.

Shortly after NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reported that McCarthy would not be returning next year in Dallas, Jones approached Coach Prime with the hope of having him return to his former team in the head coach position. However, the scenario of that happening appears next to impossible, especially as Sanders cleared his stance on the matter.

Previously when Sanders’ name was being connected to the Cowboys, he clearly assertive that it was not going to happen, expressing his love for the University of Colorado and desire to stay with them. And once again, while speaking to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he remained firm in his stance, reiterating that he has no plans to leave Boulder.

To hear from Jerry Jones is truly delightful, and it’s intriguing. I love Jerry and believe in Jerry. After you hang up and process it, and think about it, it’s intriguing. But I love Boulder and everything there is about our team, the coaches, our student body, and the community.

The speculation surrounding Sanders’ future in Colorado has only intensified lately, especially as he is set to enter a transitional phase after both his sons Shedeur and Shilo make their NFL debut this year in April. However, he has been insistent on staying with the Buffaloes– well publicly at least.

Deion Sanders expresses interest in Raiders head coaching position

Contrary to the college football head coach’s statements of staying in Colorado, he reportedly reached out to the Las Vegas Raiders to let them know about his availability for the head coach position. Although the Raiders are unlikely to get their hands on his son, Shedeur, he was “very interested” in the position.

Although the team hasn’t made any move regarding this matter, they are set to be not interested in the generous offer. Instead, they are moving ahead to interview Pete Carroll and Robert Saleh after already conducting interviews with Ben Johnson, Aaron Glenn, and Steve Spagnuolo
