There is a reason that Deion Sanders should be the gold standard for Head Coaches in all sports from High School to college. The man prioritizes grooming young boys into grown men who are responsible and accountable for their actions. In many ways, Coach Prime is a real-life manifestation of Ken Carter portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson in Coach Carter.
Previously, Deion Sanders has called his players out for not attending classes or securing disappointing grades. On one occasion, he lashed out at them for leaving the locker room dirty. This time, Coach Prime had some important words of wisdom for the team at the final practice of the Seniors.
Deion Sanders spoke about good parenting and its importance. He shed light on how privileged they all were for having parents in their lives.
Some of y’all don’t realize how blessed you are. Your parents were about to give up when they found out they were pregnant with you. They weren’t ready, but they kept fighting. They kept going, and they didn’t look back. They didn’t abort you.
Deion Sanders said
It is easy to take some things for granted and when an individual has had parents that have taken care of them since day 1 and provided everything, the struggles they go through to be able to do that are often overlooked.
Deion Sanders gave a shoutout to single parents for stepping up in their children’s lives
There are players on the football team who are not blessed enough to have a father and mother to go back home to. However, despite the absence of one parent, the other stepped in and made sure to fill their shoes. Coach Prime acknowledged the single parents and gave them their flowers.

His statement was meant to shed light on the importance of good parenting as he believes that parents are the most important coaches in the journey of life.
They had you, and it was tough growing up. Some of your fathers didn’t play their role. Some of your fathers did. Some of your mothers didn’t play their role. Some of your mothers did. But somehow, somebody stepped in and filled that gap.
Deion Sanders added
His message resonated with his players. He has continued to shed light on the importance of parents in the lives of the players. The same could be seen during Travis Hunter‘s Heisman acceptance speech wherein he emotionally thanked his father for his sacrifices.
It is great to see Deion Sanders bring out the gratitude of his players towards their parents and his style of coaching is one that every teacher must strive to replicate.
