Deion Sanders, whose prime focus appears to be the upcoming season, has his coaching methods and roster-building strategies at the University of Colorado, fell under scrutiny. The limelight amidst the whole controversy has now involved his son, Shedeur

For context, the headlines surrounding Deion begin after a writeup by Max Olson published on The Athletic which gives a closer look into the experiences of former players, who parted ways with Colorado following Deion’s take over as the head coach. One such player whose name was highlighted the most in the article was Xavier Smith

He criticized Deion’s coaching approach, especially how Coach Prime handled the roster transition. Upon hearing Smith’s allegation, Shedeur didn’t hold himself back from responding as he gave a cocky reply to the former Buffaloes’ defensive back.

However, fans didn’t seem to like Shedeur’s snarky comments and called him out on social media. One fan addressed directly to Deion, asking him to stop his son “act like he the coldest out here then put up a  4-8 season.”

Coach Prime lashed out at the fan.

He will be a top 5 pick. Where yo son going? Lololol I got time today. Lololol.

If there’s one thing that Sanders doesn’t lack is ‘confidence.’ That’s what helped Deion build a legacy as an NFL player. It also helped him have a turnaround in college football, where he recorded a 27-6 record in three seasons at Jackson State.

Deion Sanders’ plan to overcome a rocky season

The Buffaloes didn’t finish well last season, recording 4-8 in 2023. But since then, head coach Deion and his team have been quite active in the transfer portal. Coach Prime has made a handful of changes in the roster as well as his coaching staff to improve the team overall.

However, in this transfer portal, Colorado has lost some of its key players, but that doesn’t worry Deion.

We're good. I trust the recruiting team. I trust our coaches, and please have some faith in me. We good. We all right. We all right.

Having Sheduer as the starting QB and back in Big 10, the Buffaloes will kick start their next season at the end of August. They will begin with a game against the North Dakota State.
