It took 11 weeks for Shedeur Sanders to be able to play one half of a game in the NFL. Now, as starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel has been ruled out, Deion Sanders‘ son will likely lead the Browns in Week 12.
The 2025 fifth round pick had mentioned that he was preparing himself to be ready for the day his name would get called. However, he did not get any reps with the 1st team.
That became his undoing when he went up against a stud Baltimore Ravens defense. Sacking him on the 1st drive, intercepting him on the next, summed up how they harassed the rookie QB.
Many have called out head coach Kevin Stefanski for not helping his QB2 prepare with the 1st team in case of contingencies. That should change the coming Sunday, as Shedeur Sanders should be exclusively practicing with the starters as he prepares for Week 12.
Knowing his son would be starting against the Las Vegas Raiders, another team who were highly touted to be looking to draft the Colorado star but eventually skipped on him, reporters asked Deion Sanders if he was going to be at Allegiant Stadium to root for his son.
Don’t know. I haven’t made that decision as of yet.
Deion Sanders replied
It seems the Hall of Famer has not made a decision yet, as he is focused on the Colorado Buffaloes, who have disappointed this season, leaving Sanders Sr. scrambling for solutions.

They are going to face No. 25 Arizona State at home. After that, the 58-year-old head coach could take the two-hour flight to Las Vegas if he sees fit.
Stephen A. Smith wonders if there is some disconnect between Shedeur Sanders and Kevin Stefanski
Deion Sanders has, in the past, seemingly expressed his frustrations with the Cleveland Browns franchise for their handling of his son. It could be that he believes his son might not be having the best of nights in Week 12.
Since many have pointed fingers at Kevin Stefanski over not preparing Shedeur Sanders with the 1st team, Stephen A. Smith took the opportunity to say this while on First Take.
Something’s wrong… I root for Kevin Stefanski… Something ain’t right. Something smells. If it ain’t him, it’s somebody else.
Stephen A. Smith said
The analyst made it clear that he will never root against the Browns head coach, owing to his relationship with his father, Ed Stefanski. Despite that, he still believes something is off in Cleveland.
"I don't root against Kevin Stefanski. … Something ain't right. Something smells. If it ain't [Kevin Stefanski], it's somebody else."

Smith talked about how the head coach and offensive coordinator might not be sold on Sanders, but since the GM does, there seems to be a clash of objectives. Unless that is fixed, the situation might not change.
Shedeur Sanders lost $200,000 in home invasion during NFL debut
Discussions about Shedeur Sanders‘ disappointing NFL debut will go on for a while, at least until there is visible evidence of an uptick in performance.

While analysts try to stretch ratings with that one topic, the 23-year-old has another headache to manage, his house. His home was broken into while he was getting harassed by the Baltimore Ravens.
Now, further details have come out revealing that the Browns’ rookie lost $200,000 to burglars. ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi revealed that three suspects managed to loot him of his property in 12 minutes, as captured on home surveillance footage.
The Sheriff’s office is investigating the incident, but it paints the trouble professional athletes face as Shedeur Sanders becomes the latest in a string of victims
