After winning the Heisman Trophy, Travis Hunter has been projected to be the first overall pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft. However, since the New York Giants are likely to land the No. 1 pick and they desperately need a quarterback, Deion Sanders is confident that his son Shedeur Sanders would be picked.
During his recent appearance on The Pacman Jones Show, Colorado Buffalos head coach spoke with utter confidence about the Giants not planning to trade the No. 1 pick if they secure it. Although he did not confirm whether he has inside information, he is confident that the Buffs senior quarterback will be their top pick.
Host Adam “Pacman” Jones confirmed again which player is likely to get drafted as the No. 1 overall pick, and without hesitation, Deion once again named his son.

Currently, the Giants are projected to land the first overall pick and their top prospects are Shedeur and Miami’s Cam Ward. If Deion’s source of information is the Giants’ head coach Brian Daboll or General Manager Joe Scheon, it could be a stretch because they are both likely to be out from the franchise by the time of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Could the Giants secure the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Though there’s no doubt that Shedeur in blue could result in exactly what the Giants need, there’s a possibility that they might not land the No. 1 pick. According to Tankathon, the Las Vegas Raiders and Giants are tied for the worst record in the league.
With three games left for the 2024 season, there’s still a chance that the Raiders might occupy the first draft pick. Given, that they are not even favored to win the remaining matches against the Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, and Los Angeles Chargers.
Meanwhile, the Giants are up against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, followed by the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles, where all the good players might be given rest if they secure the playoff berth already. Whoever lands the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is unlikely to trade it as both have a pressing need for a quarterback.
