Deion Sanders announced strict rules regarding class etiquette for his Colorado students before the start of his third year as the Buffaloes’ head coach. The students can say goodbye to the days when they could show up in the classroom in whatever they pleased.
Slides are common among Gen Z. They’re comfortable and can be worn on nearly any occasion. Unfortunately, slides were the first thing to be banned from Coach Prime’s classroom, followed by hoodies.
The 58-year-old cautioned them that failing to follow his rule would result in severe punishment.
“If I see you with them—I’m gonna send people to campus—if I see you with slides on campus, it’s gonna be a problem. If I see you with a hoodie on in class or some headphones on in class, it’s gonna be a problem. If I see you sitting in the back of the classroom, it’s gonna be a problem. Do we understand that?”

That’s not all. Sanders ordered students who take online classes to wear a shirt. The institution will also take severe actions against students who are involved in unsavory activities.
[If] you’ve got a wife-beater on, or you’ve got something stupid on that’s causing a distraction, or you’re walking about during an online session, it’s gonna be a problem.
Sanders quipped
Are Deion Sanders’ Colorado Buffaloes among the contenders for the CFP in 2025?
After a 4-8 debut campaign, Sanders led the Buffaloes to a 9-4 record. They played and lost to the BYU Cougars in the Alamo Bowl.

Despite an impressive first year in the Big 12, the Buffaloes did not receive a rank from AP. Primarily because a bunch of their players graduate, and some join the NFL.
Two-way star Travis Hunter became the joint-highest NFL draftee from the program after the Jaguars traded up to take him second overall. Quarterback and Prime’s son, Shedeur Sanders, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns, while the Baltimore Ravens selected wide receiver LaJohntay Wester in the sixth round.
Sanders placed his faith in Kaidon Salter to lead the Buffaloes as their new starting quarterback. Salter came from Liberty, where he posted 20-5 in four seasons, completing 60.3% of his passing attempts for 5283 yards and 59 touchdowns, along with 298 carries with the ball for 1697 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground.

Colorado’s odds going into the new season
Buffs fans may be excited for the 2025 season, but the latest odds paint a very bleak picture for UC. According to FanDuel Sportsbook and Sports Illustrated, the Buffaloes have +1800 odds to make the college football playoff this season and have +30000 odds to win the National Championship game.
Despite going 7-2 in the Big 12, the Buffaloes have +3300 odds of winning the conference, which is among the lower echelons of the teams’ chances.
Colorado’s Schedule
Sanders’ Buffaloes kick off their second year in the Big 12 by hosting Georgia Tech and FBS rookie Delaware, followed by their first road game against the Houston Cougars.
After the Cougars, the Buffs play Wyoming (home), BYU (home), TCU (away), ranked 22 Iowa State (home), Arizona (home), West Virginia (away), ranked 11 Arizona State (home), and ranked 17 Kansas State (away) to end their regular college football season.
