Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter’s final year in college football is coming to an end and, with its conclusion, they will start a new beginning in the 2025 NFL Draft to embark on their NFL journey. However, Coach Prime is not ready to leave his star players yet, and thus, he vowed to intervene if their draft selections did not go as he planned.
Deion Sanders, who has always been quite opinionated about Hunter and his son, Shedeur’s future in the NFL, shared on Fox Sports’ Speak about his plan to get them drafted by only those teams that he deemed right. He wants his star players to land in the best situations to ensure the proper development of legendary players as he was in the NFL.

Since joining the Colorado Buffaloes, Coach Prime has treated the star wide receiver Hunter just like his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders. And the wideout credits him equally for success in college football. That’s why Deion plans to navigate Hunter’s draft selections– who is projected to be the first overall pick; just like he would for his sons.
Deion Sanders wants his star players to channel Eli Manning in upcoming NFL draft
This isn’t the first time the former legendary cornerback has spoken on Shedeur and Hunter’s draft selections. Earlier this year in March, Deion stated that if any wrong team drafted his son or Hunter, he would ask them to pull an Eli Manning in 2004, ensuring they ended up with good teams like Manning in the New York Giants.
“There’s certain cities that ain’t gonna happen… It’s gonna be an Eli.”

Back in 2004, the two-time Super Bowl champion did something that the NFL had never seen, let alone college football. Being the first overall pick and the Los Angeles Chargers eyeing him, Manning threatened them via his agent, Tom Condon, that if they drafted him, he would draft out the entire 2004.
At that time, the Chargers didn’t take it seriously but soon realized how serious Manning was, so they traded him to the Giants an hour later and the rest is history.
