IPL 2021: “Nayi Dilli ki Nayi Jersey” – Delhi Capitals unveil new jersey

Delhi Capitals unveiled a new jersey for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). DC will be one of the favorites to qualify for the playoffs and even go all the way in the tournament this year. Having never won the IPL in its 13-year history, DC would want to get their hands on the elusive trophy. Their side which is much similar to last season’s would want a similar performance like in the previous edition.

DC finished as runner-up in IPL 2020 as they fell to champions Mumbai Indians (MI). Apart from the seemingly invincible MI side, DC looked like the strongest. With a fearsome bowling line-up consisting of express quicks in Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje along with spinners R Ashwin and Axar Patel, the side is well equipped there. The batting line-up too consists of an excellent mix of youth and experience that has only been bolstered by Steve Smith‘s buy at the auction.

Delhi Capitals unveiled a new jersey for the 2021 edition with a darker tone than the previous year. Co-owner Kiran Kumar Grandhi spoke about the change in a statement saying, “Delhi’s fans have stood by the team through ups and downs, so it is imperative for us to make them feel special. To take the fan experience to a different level, we also organised a photoshoot for the select fans in the new jersey, just like we do for the players. We are glad to have given them a memorable experience. It’s also a very proud moment for all of us at GMR to see the group’s logo on the arm. We cannot wait for the league to kick off, I wish the team all the very best.”

“The new jersey looks trendy, which is in sync with our team – a vibrant, young side ready to take on a challenge, and the tiger claws make a strong statement.” Delhi Capitals Director Vinod Bisht said in a statement.

Delhi Capitals will kick off their season with a clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the 10th of April.
