Dennis Schroder admits being “shocked” by Nets’ decision to trade him: “We just got settled in the house”
Golden State Warriors' newest addition Dennis Schroder shared an intriguing take regarding his trade deal to his new side recently.
Dennis Schroder
The Brooklyn Nets traded experienced point guard Dennis Schroder less than a year after they acquired him. The 31-year-old was traded to the Golden State Warriors for an ending contract and second-round picks after he outperformed expectations early in what was thought to be a dismal season. However, Schroder did not see this trade move coming.
The newly acquired Warriors star made his introductory appearance as a Warriors player to the media recently. Schroder discussed various topics regarding the Warriors, his trade deal, and his new teammates, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green. However, he first opened up on the Nets trading him to the Warriors, which was ‘an unexpected move.’
Throughout the second portion of his career, Schroder didn’t get many opportunities to settle in. With this weekend’s move, he has switched teams eight times in the last eight seasons. Despite his repeated statements that he wants to stay in Brooklyn for the long run, the Nets will now lean into a tank in the first year of a rebuild since he is traded.

With 45/39/89 shooting splits, Schroder averaged 18.4 points and 6.6 assists per game, which was a career-best start to his Nets career. The Warriors, who have looked for offensive options outside of Steph Curry, can use him right away. The German star will likely make his Warriors debut in the side’s upcoming matchup on Thursday.
Draymond Green makes important admission regarding newest teammate Dennis Schroder
The DubNation were surely ecstatic after coming across the Dennis Schroder to Golden State Warriors trade deal news. However, some are still not sold on the deal. One of them seems to be the Warriors veteran defender, Draymond Green. After the Warriors loss to the Dallas Mavericks at the Chase Center, Green opened up on Schroder joining his side.
Without a doubt, Schroder will introduce a fresh approach to the Warriors’ game. He takes a more systematic approach and frequently prefers to create penetration in the half-court by using the pick-and-roll. Therefore, if the Warriors want to maximize the three-level scoring veteran, they might need to slow down when running the ball through Schroder.
