Joe Gibbs Racing veteran Denny Hamlin is arguably the greatest NASCAR driver ever to not win a Cup Series title. Since his made his Cup series debut, he has been a consistent race winner with JGR and has been in the championship conversation almost every year. But unfortunately, he has been able to get the much important race win for the championship.

The 54-times Cup race winner hasn’t stopped fighting for the title and is a serious contender to win this season, as he already won three races in 2024. Recently he talked to ex-racer Kenny Wallace via his YouTube show Kenny Conversation how he would feel if he ended his career without the ultimate stock car racing championship.

Denny Hamlin asserted that he would be just fine if he can’t win the ultimate prize and till e retires, he would stay focused on fighting hard to be in a spot to win the title. He recalled words of wisdom from Mark Martin, who ended his Hall of Famer career without a championship, that winning a championship won’t change much of one’s life.

Just keep putting myself in position, stay focused and keep putting the work in. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, I’m going to be just fine. As Mark Martin would say, ‘My life is no different today than if had I won the 1995 championship. It just doesn’t change anything.'

Denny Hamlin is looking forward to shite next week at Pocono

The JGR crew of Hamlin is at Pocono with a lot of expectations. He reckons that they have been really well in terms of execution at the track and is a track that sits his driving style. Hamlin also highlighted how having long-straightway helps him as well.

I feel like we have executed extremely well at Pocono. That and the racetrack certainly fts my driving style. I typically don’t drive very deep into the corner, instead, I try to get good exit speeds. Pocono has such long straightaways, so you get rewarded for that exit speed. I love the racetrack itself.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver would be hoping to get back to winning form as its been couple of months since the No:11 teams’ last win and if they cant get a victory the regular season championship might slip-away. It would be interesting to see how they will perform this coming races.
