Drivers getting back on each other over incident from previous races has created some of the biggest dramatic moments in NASCAR over the years. But according to Joe Gibbs Racing’s future Hall of Famer Denny Hamlin, the drivers on the current grid often doesn’t get the revenge they promised on their rivals.

Denny Hamlin made this revelation while talking about Ryan Blaney promising to take revenge on Willaim Byron for the incident that led to his DNF last week at Darlington. An aggressive move from the HMS driver during a three wide battle on stage two sent the defending champion to the wall, breaking his toe link.

I don’t know. Payback? I don’t know. A lot of these drivers talk, and they don’t really do much in the long run.

While Hamlin does have a point, a potential revenge can’t be ruled out. These drivers might be looking forward for the right opportunity to hit back and hurt their rivals bad enough so that they would never try to repeat the offense.

Hamlin while talking about how Blaney might take his revenge on Byron pointed out that he expects just more hard racing between the two. He sees the No:12 Ford making the day harder for No:24., but nothing more out of the ordinary.

I mean, Blaney will probably just race him hard, probably. They’ll go to Charlotte, and he’ll just run on his door, and make sure he doesn’t clear. You could just make someone’s job a little bit harder, for sure.

The JGR driver does have a point, considering the off-track relationship Blaney has with Byron. But at the same time, on the track Blaney is an entirely different character filled with Adrenalin, so there is possibility that he will take revenge the hard way.
