Joe Gibbs Racing’s Denny Hamlin has got himself back in the championship conversation with back-to-back Cup race wins. He ended his long winless streak two weeks before at Martinsville and continued his domination at Darlington Raceway, by producing a strategic race and perfect execution, with lady luck on his side.
But all the positives haven’t stopped Denny Hamlin from making some critical comments about the weekend. Via his podcast, he called out the Cup and Truck Series race broadcaster Fox Sports for issues regarding their coverage. He pointed out that they messed up with the audio, giving examples of him watching races at his motorhome and back at his house.
Is FOX‘s audio f*cked up for anyone else? Like, I notice in my living room and in my bus, I have multiple speakers. I have a TV and then I have speakers, a left and a right. But the audio during our races only comes out of our right speaker.
Denny Hamlin said via Actions Detrimental.
He further pointed that he has been noticing similar issues over the last few weeks regarding the audio. Hamlin highlighted that the issue is only with the NASCAR broadcast, and it needs to be addressed immediately. The veteran has never shied away from criticizing the broadcasters for their mistakes and it is just another addition to those comments.
It’s like it’s on analog. I don’t know. I’ve noticed it for a few weeks that they’ve got something going on with their audio that is just not like all other audio coming through FOX or any other station for that matter. I don’t know what’s going on.

Denny Hamlin credits his crew for Darlington win
Issues aside, the throwback weekend was special for Denny Hamlin. He won the race sporting a paint scheme honoring his ex-teammate and friend Carl Edwards. The back-to-back wins and his crew being perfect on the pit-road, having string sponsor and his family backing him, makes it a great experience for him.

Our pit crew won it… It comes down to these crunch time situations. I had to do my job on pit road executing, but I have to thank Sport Clips, TRD, Progressive… My kids, my family, my fiancé. I mean, what a great day!

Once the No:11 crew was known for making silly mistakes in the pit-road and over the years they have evolved into one of the best team in the garage. Once they used to cost Hamlin races, now he is winning because of their masterclass. All this gives more hopes for the veteran who is desperately chasing his maiden title at the age of 44.
The comment from Hamlin shows he trusts his crew more than ever now and this given him the opportunity to take more risks. By taking some calculated risks, he might be able to finally get the opportunity to retire as a champion.
