The 2024 NASCAR Cup season has been marked with the fight between the series owners and teams over the new charter deal. The drama is on another level now, with 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports suing the sports. The major reason behind the issues was the lack of financial sustainability in the sport, with teams losing sponsors often.
23XI Racing co-owner Denny Hamlin in the recent episode of his podcast Actions Detrimental, has explained the situation and names the teams that have staying power in the sport. He pointed out the top-dogs of the sport, Hendrick Motorsports, Team Penske Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing are the only team capable of sustaining their sponsorship long-terms.
The JGR veteran pointed out that no other teams in the sport have the ability sustain themselves longtime, as they are fragile, perform less and are hard to invest. He pointed out that no teams can thrive under such kind of business situation.

The No:11 Toyota driver in the same podcast also talked about the sponsorship situation forcing Stewart Haas Racing ending their operations. He explained that SHR lost their Ford deal because of the poor performance, and it was followed by losing the major sponsor, causing the teams end.
The JGR veteran has made some strong points about the sponsorship situation in the sport and how it is ruining the sport. It will be interesting to see how much the sport will further suffer if the issues with sponsorship and limited support from NASCAR continues.
