The NASCAR community is witnessing one of the biggest legal scandals in the history of the sport, over the charter lawsuit filed by 23XI Racing-Front Row Motorsports coalition. Recently, court made a major ruling that gave NASCAR the edge taking away the team’s charters. 23XI co-owner Denny Hamlin has shared his thoughts on drama, ahead of the Dover race weekend.
When pressed about the potential consequences of the team losing charter and how NASCAR has won the most recent battle, as part of the Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 media session, Denny Hamlin send a bold warning to NASCAR. He declared that everything wrong with the sports will be exposed when the scheduled trial take place in December one this year.
If you want answers, you want to understand why all this is happening, come Dec. 1, you’ll get the answers that you’re looking for. All will be exposed.

"If you want answers and you want to understand why this is all happening, come (to the trial) December 1st. You'll get the answers you're looking for and all will be exposed."
Further talking about the point, he declared everyone in the racing community to mark the trial date on their calendar. Though the lawsuit takes up a lot of his time, he isn’t letting it affect his on-track performance for the No:11 Toyota team of Joe Gibbs Racing, and during the races, he has just one goal; winning the event.
Dec. 1 is all that matters. Mark your calendar. I’d love to be doing other things. I’ve got a lot going on. When I get in the car (today), nothing else is going to matter other than that.
Denny Hamlin added.
The veteran then highlighted how he always has been 100% committed on everything he does on and off the track. He is always dedicated his team, as well as his other ventures outside of the sport and this has played a significant role in his accomplished racing career. The TRD driver needs to stay on the same path if he wants to win the anti-trust lawsuit, and change the sport forever.
I always give my team 100%. I always prepare whether I have side jobs, side hustles, more kids, that all matters, but I always give my team all the time that they need to make sure that when I step in, I’m 100% committed.
Denny Hamlin asserted.
Will Denny Hamlin’s drivers able to race in the Cup Series playoffs?
Talking about the loss in the latest episode of his podcast, Denny Hamlin shed light on how his drivers are going to approach racing as open teams. The teams have to qualify for every race and can’t afford to miss single race, in order to secure a playoff spot considering all three of their drivers are winless in the 2025 season.

We’re going to race, whether we’re chartered or unchartered. Yeah, everything would be the same there. Obviously if you miss a race, it makes it harder, you miss out on those points, so hopefully it doesn’t come to that.

If the team fail to make it into the playoffs owing to the status as an open team, they might lose their star drivers Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace. Both of them supposedly has clauses in their contract that allows them to leave the team, if they are racing as open cars. If they lose the racers, it will significantly affect their revenue, as they will lose major sponsorship deals.
