The San Francisco 49ers have an abundance of wideouts on their roster, which is why it came as no surprise the team did not promote Willie Snead IV to a roster spot. They just have that competitive of a receiver room. After this, Snead chose to part ways with the team and accused his former team of being “afraid to let guys compete for a roster spot.”

The free agent has been going on a subtle dissing spree and is leaving no stone unturned to take a shot at the San Francisco 49ers. Willie Snead IV made a few posts after he accused his former team of not giving a level field for all the players to prove themselves. He put down the NFC entirely and hailed the AFC North.

“I want to go back to the AFC North. Different brand of football,” were his words, to be precise. Snead has played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2018, 2019, and 2021, so that’s where he experienced the style of play in the division. His comments were not taken lightly by Deommodore Lenoir, the cornerback for the 49ers, who called Snead out on his Instagram Live.

I hope they bring Snead back so I can strap him up. He's just hurt right now. He's in his feelings. That's why he's over there talking about...'I want to go back to the AFC North. Different brand of football.' Come on man, you ain't going to do that. They know how he is; they know how physical he is in practice.

Snead has since deactivated his X account and deleted the posts. His time with the 49ers is forgettable as he recorded 2 catches for a total of 14 yards in the 2023-24 season.

Willie Snead IV remains a free agent and is on the lookout for teams interested in him

Lenoir had responded to one of Snead’s posts and asked him, “Why you sneak Dissin?” Since his rookie year for the New Orleans Saints in 2015, Snead has not been able to outperform himself. He is at best a role-player in the wideout room that can get you a few yards here and there, but he is not a go-to star who can continually perform.

Snead is a free agent and is hoping to sign with a team where he will get the opportunity to get more snaps than he did last season. However, it seems his best years may be behind him. The reason he is not being pursued actively by competitors is that in the past year, even when the 49ers had receivers that were injured, they opted to give other players a chance to step in and did not go to Snead.

Whichever team Willie Snead IV lands up on this season, it will be safe to say Lenoir will circle the date on which the 49ers play against them. There is a good chance he could return to the Baltimore Ravens after the departure of Odell Beckham Jr. Snead put up respectable numbers in the three years he played for them.
