“He Definitely Cheated” – Deontay Wilder Vows to Expose ‘Cheater’ Tyson Fury in Upcoming Documentary
Deontay Wilder believes that he has enough proof in his documentary to reveal Tyson Fury's "cheating gameplan" in two of their fights.

The Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder trilogy ranks among boxing’s most entertaining heavyweight rivalries. The three championship bouts combined Wilder’s raw knockout power with Fury’s technical skill. Ultimately, Fury took control of the rivalry by winning the final two fights. However, Wilder recently reignited questions about their first two meetings after accusing Fury of cheating 5 years after their last bout.
Fury and Wilder first met in December 2018, with the WBC heavyweight title on the line, and the bout ended in a controversial split draw. Their rematch took place in February 2020, where Fury dominated and stopped Wilder in the seventh round to claim the WBC belt. The rivalry concluded in October 2021 with a dramatic trilogy fight, as Fury secured a knockout victory in the 11th round, effectively ending the trilogy.
Following the trilogy, Wilder has continued to suggest that unnatural methods influenced Fury’s success. He previously pointed to beliefs in so-called “Gypsy magic”, claiming such factors gave Fury an advantage in their fights. With his upcoming documentary nearing release, the ‘Bronze Bomber’ has shifted his focus to equipment, stating he believes Fury’s gloves were altered in a way that contributed to the stoppages.
He didn’t win nothing, they gave it to him. I can’t think about the third one, but the two of them, he definitely cheated. I got proof and evidence of that. When I do my documentary and my movie about it, it’s gonna be presented. … The man cheated, he’s the biggest cheater in boxing history. If you look him up, you’ll see it. Why do you think he can’t come back to America now? The man cheated. He’s the biggest cheater in boxing history.

This was not the first time Fury had faced accusations related to the use of unfairly padded gloves. Similar concerns were raised by Francis Ngannou ahead of his crossover bout against the British veteran in 2023, with attention placed on glove structure and safety. The issue was further amplified by circulated footage from one of the Wilder fights, where Fury’s glove appeared to bend unnaturally during exchanges.
Their first meeting produced one of the most iconic moments in heavyweight boxing history. In the 12th round, Wilder knocked Fury down heavily, appearing to secure victory. Fury rose from the canvas in the final minute and finished the fight on his feet. Despite the rivalry being marked by trash talk, accusations, and prolonged bad blood, the British heavyweight has acknowledged Wilder’s power and durability.
Speculation around a potential fourth fight between Fury and Wilder has surfaced multiple times over the years, but such a bout has never materialized. The rivalry appears to be over as both fighters have moved in different directions. Deontay Wilder is now set to return to the squared circle against Derek Chisora. The bout is scheduled for April 4 at London’s O2 Arena, marking the next chapter of his career.
Tyson Fury replies to Deontay Wilder’s cheating allegations
Following his final fight against Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury went on to defend his WBC heavyweight title on two occasions. His unbeaten run came to an end after a loss to Oleksandr Usyk, which saw Fury relinquish his championship status. Fury later suffered defeat in the rematch with Usyk. After that second loss, he announced his retirement for the fifth time in his professional career.

However, in classic Fury fashion, the former champion recently made a U-turn on his retirement decision. He is now set to return to the ring against Arslanbek Makhmudov in a comeback bout scheduled for April. Fury is currently in training camp, preparing for the fight. While focused on his return, he also addressed the renewed comments from Wilder regarding allegations of cheating during their rivalry.
In my last two fights, I didn’t get the results I was after. Oleksandr got the results over me and fair play to him and his team and everybody around him. They were life lessons. In this life, you don’t always get what you want or what you think you did enough to get. But that’s where it stays. You don’t hear me crying and moaning about it, saying: ‘Oh my god, he cheated’. That’s not me and there’s no point in crying over spilt milk.

Fury’s response to the renewed accusations reflected a more measured tone than in previous disputes. By referencing his own setbacks against Usyk, he framed defeat as part of professional competition rather than controversy. The approach highlighted a more mature side of the ‘Gypsy King’, marking a shift in how he has handled criticism late in his career.
