‘Tipsy Costa lmk when you’re ready’ – Derek Brunson all over Paulo Costa after victory against Kevin Holland

Derek Brunson’s surge towards the middleweight top 5, gained further momentum as he saw off a fast-rising Kevin Holland at UFC Vegas 22. He beat the ‘Trailblazer’ via unanimous decision (49-45, 49-46, 49-46) – a match which saw Holland hardly put on some effort. He was completely outwrestled throughout the match, and in no instance did he look like the better fighter.

At the post-fight interview, Derek Brunson called out number 2 ranked middleweight contender Paulo Costa. He said, “Costa, what’s up man. I saw you just pulled out of a fight. I’m still here for you. Me and Costa, that sounds like a fight I’d like to have.” Now, once again Derek Brunson has called out Costa on Twitter, saying that he was ready.

Tipsy Costa lmk when you’re ready ! @BorrachinhaMMA,” Brunson tweeted, taking a dig at Paulo Costa’s recent excuse, wherein he claimed that he was drunk the night before he fought Israel Adesanya at UFC 253; a fight which he eventually lost.

Brunson is currently on a four fight win streak. And, the win against Holland would surely propel him into the top 5 of the middleweight rankings, if not at least closer to it.

Paulo Costa, on the other hand, hasn’t fought since his humiliation against Israel Adesanya at UFC 253. He was supposed to take on Robert Whittaker on the 17th of April, this year, but pulled out due to flu.
