Baltimore Ravens rusher Derrick Henry admitted he would prefer both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles to lose the Super Bowl LIX. Henry’s Baltimore Ravens crashed out in the Wild Card after the Buffalo Bills edged them by a whisker.

Derrick Henry finished the season as the league’s second in most rushing yards. He is, in fact, the only NFL player to finish the league not as the leader despite hauling more than 1900 points.

In an open-air sitdown with Dallas Cowboys’ Micah Parsons on the latter’s podcast, “The Edge,” Henry made his very blunt Super Bowl prediction. ‘I hope both of ’em lose.’I want both of ’em to lose. I don’t care who wins, I ain’t playing, Henry openly admitted.

Derrick Henry’s words seem to have been aligned with a lot of people’s emotions. The huge attendance equally cheered in response when Henry admitted his stance. His response also got appreciation from the podcast host who nodded at him for keeping it real.

The sentiments are far more than Derrick Henry against the Super Bowl LIX teams

As more than 100 million Americans tune in for Super Bowl LIX, a significant portion of viewers may do so with the hope that neither team emerges victorious—a testament to the polarizing nature of these two widely debated NFL franchises.

In addition to Derrick Henry, San Francisco 49ers’ Fred Warner has also commented on his intense dislike of both the Eagles and the Chiefs. “I really dislike both teams. I’m not going say ‘hate,’ that’s a strong word,” Warner told “Up & Adams” on Thursday.

The Birds are one of the most hated fanbases in the league. Their activities in the long history and the recent treatment of the Commanders’ fans have fueled the hate. A 2023 poll of NFL players conducted by The Athletic ranked Eagles fans as the most annoying fan base in the league.

The Birds are in one of these situations for the second time. In 2018, when they played the New England Patriots, there were similar comments, especially one from SNL’s Beck Bennett. “They are the worst. Is there any way they could both lose?,” he painfully lamented.

As for the Chiefs, two times in a row bred contempt. It’s the narrow margins by which they secure victory in big games that have irked millions of fans across the country. Furthermore, Critics of the Chiefs also argue that the team benefits from favorable officiating. The unfounded claims have gained so much traction that the NFL and the referees’ labor union felt compelled to publicly defend the league’s officials this week.
