In the history of the league, The players with 1900 or more rushing yards usually leads the league.
The circumstances this season are different. Henry, despite huge numbers, is second in the league with the rushing yards. As the players chase ultimate glory, the individual glory might not matter as much or so they say. He admitted that he doesn’t focus much on the statistics and math of the records but the team goals. The Baltimore Ravens clinched the division title with a win over Cleveland Browns in the final game of the season. The Eagles, who have a game left. have claimed the division earlier.

Derrick Henry also drove fans uproar with unique feat during the Browns game
Derrick Henry became the first NFL player had ever achieved three seasons with 1,500 rushing yards and 15+ rushing touchdowns. On his 31st birthday, Henry marked the occasion by rushing 20 times for 138 yards—averaging nearly seven yards per carry—and scoring two touchdowns. This performance brought his season totals to 1,921 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns.

Had he gained just 79 more rushing yards, Henry would have become the first player in NFL history to record two 2,000-yard rushing seasons. Amid the explosive numbers, Lamar Jackson, the Ravens’ teammate was quick to congratulate Henry on his record in his postgame sideline speech.
“On his birthday, and I’m looking at the jumbotron and they’re saying he broke the record for this, and he broke the record for that. Man King Henry just breaking records, but I feel like he do that week in, week out, though.”
The 2024 season has seen Derrick Henry extending the boundaries of his capabilities. Henry broke the franchise record for single season rushing touchdowns with 16 this season. Henry broke the record set by Jamal Lewis in 2003. Lewis recorded 14 rushing TDs while rushing for 2,066 rushing yards – the first time a Ravens player has ten or more rushing touchdowns in a season.
