- Kevin Durant recently took a jab at Adidas, questioning who wears the brand.
- Adidas designer Jalal Enayah responded by showcasing Durant's Adidas sneaker collection, calling him a fan.
- Durant confirmed his comments were just jokes and stated he has "one more year" left in his NBA career.
There is no doubt that Kevin Durant will go down as one of the greatest players and pure scorers to have ever played the game of basketball. Very few have been able to stop Durant over the years, as the 6’11” forward is one of the most gifted offensive players in the game.
Drafted as the number two pick by the Seattle SuperSonics (before being renamed to Oklahoma City) in the 2007 NBA draft, Kevin Durant has played for five franchises in his 18-year NBA career. He has gone on to win two NBA championships, two Finals MVPs, one league MVP, four scoring titles, and several more individual accolades.
He moved to the Houston Rockets this offseason. His constant moving between teams over the last five years has some doubting him that he is chasing rings. With Durant in the lineup, the Rockets have emerged as one of the top contenders in the West this season. They currently sit in third place in the Western Conference standings with a 35-21 record.
Last few days have been difficult for the 37-year-old as he has been in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Prior to the All-Star weekend, he was on the receiving end for shifting the blame onto European players for the decline of the All-Star Game and the alleged leak from his burner account, which has been a big talking point in the media.
Off the court, Durant is one of the highest-earning basketball players in the world. He has been one of Nike’s longest tenured athletes. The Houston Rockets forward has a lifetime deal with the sneaker giant.
Nike’s rival brand, Adidas, has not had the same level of visibility compared to its rival in the NBA. Durant was recently seen taking shots at Adidas, questioning a fan, “Who wears Adidas?”
However, Adidas senior footwear designer Jalal Enayah posted a picture of Durant’s Adidas sneakers collection and called him a fan in the caption. He said, “Since @easymoneysniper wants to talk s**t about Adidas lol. We both know you’re a fan lowkey!!!” Enayah wrote this with Durant’s comment on an old post showcasing Adidas shoes saying, “Harddddd”, implying the hypocrisy of the superstar player.

To date, Durant has already had 18 shoes under the label. And his next shoe, the ‘KD 19’, is slated to drop this summer. The Nike-Durant partnership nearly ended years ago, as he signed an offer to join Under Armour, which Nike had the ability to match.

It did look like Durant was just making jokes when he was taking shots at Adidas, and he has confirmed it as well. It is something fans have come to expect from the Slim Reaper over the years.
Kevin Durant says he has one more year in him
While Durant has grabbed the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately, it has not stopped him from shining on the court. In his first season with the Rockets, the forward is currently averaging 26.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in 53 appearances.

During the interaction with a fan, Durant was joking around with his followers when a question about his future in the league sparked the conversation. He began chanting, “One more year.”
“I got paid $2 million for 2 hours of work… what am I gonna say, no?”

With Durant still performing at a high level, it is safe to assume that he has more than one year left in him.
