Since Shedeur Sanders is about to make his NFL debut, there have been several rumors about Coach Prime’s potential departure from the Colorado Buffaloes. While he has dispelled the rumors by affirming his love for Colorado, Stephen A. Smith doesn’t seem convinced as he named a potential landing spot for him.
During Wednesday’s episode of First Take, sports analyst Smith went into the discussion of Deion Sanders’ future in Colorado. Believing that he would not remain with Buffs after his son, Smith proposed him as an ideal candidate for Ohio State, especially since coach Ryan Day is most likely to part ways.
The ESPN analyst highlighted that Sanders carries the “sizzle” and recognition that Ohio State is looking for in their next potential head coach while pitching Coach Prime’s name to them.

"He brings that sizzle… he pays for himself because of his popularity. It's so huge. That's what you're looking for if you're Ohio State. Ryan Day doesn't do that for you." pic.twitter.com/XB4XPZewF4
Smith further acknowledged Mike Vrabel’s name has been swirling around to return to his alma mater as head coach but dismissed the idea arguing that Vrabel does not have the “sizzle” that Ohio State should allure. While it remains a question whether or not Coach Prime would actually leave Colorado, if he does then the idea of him and Ohio State certainly sounds an intriguing one.
Jets and Saints emerge as potential destinations for Deion Sanders
Well, Ohio State is not the only landing spot for Sanders as NFL teams such as the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints have emerged as interested teams for him to consider. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported via a source that the Jets and Saints are likely competing for Coach Prime.
After New York fired head coach Robert Saleh and the Saints parted ways with Dennis Allen in November, both are in the market looking for a head coach to rejuvenate their teams. Interestingly, the Dallas Cowboys have also been mentioned as potential suitors for Sanders and Jerry Jones may actually act upon it if Mike McCarthy is let go.
