Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic was caught suggesting referees were favoring Oklahoma City Thunder, could draw a fine from the NBA

In Game 6 between the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder, the literal scrap for each possession could be seen throughout the game. The same energy was present among the coaching staff as well. This was evident when Thunder head coach, Mark Daigneault was animated on the sidelines with the referees. Seeing this Luka Doncic had some choice words which could end up getting him in trouble.

In the last minute of the 2nd quarter, the Thunder were leading by double digits. This is when Luka Doncic took revenge on Luguentz Dort and hit him hard on a play. To this, Daigneault furiously called the referees to review the play. At that moment Luka Doncic apparently screamed this while walking toward the sidelines:

This was an indirect hit at the referees for favoring the Oklahoma City Thunder. Something that the NBA could fine Doncic for. It was the story of the 1st half as the Mavericks were staring at a probable game 7. The Thunder were literally playing both sides of the game to perfection, limiting Doncic and his teammates to a great degree.

Naturally, a frustrated player watching this unfold is likely to talk about what he felt was going on. But the NBA could see this as a straight-up insult at the officiating as well as the league. They have generally fined players for indicating that in the past.

Luka Doncic and his teammates can now rest and wait for the Western Conference Finals

With this win, the Dallas Mavericks earn 2 extra days of rest as compared to whoever comes out on top in Game 7 of the other west semifinals. That will go a long way to help them recover considering how gassed Luka Doncic looked at the buzzer. Any extra time to heal their bodies will go a long way to tackle whoever they meet next.

The basketball world would want a Dallas Mavericks vs. Denver Nuggets Western Conference Finals. As in that matchup, the two close friends from Europe and fellow MVP compatriots will lock horns. A matchup that will certainly light up the rating charts.

On the other hand, if they meet the Minnesota Timberwolves, they can look forward to another exciting matchup against Anthony Edwards and their stingy defense. The Dallas Mavericks have a lot to prepare for before the NBA’s Western Conference Finals tip-off.
