Charles Barkley makes bold admission regarding the NBA Finals winner, despite being proved wrong by Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks.
Luka Doncic and Charles Barkley
“Inside the NBA” show’s Charles Barkley once predicted that the Minnesota Timberwolves would go on and beat the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. However, he was proved wrong by Luka Doncic and Co as the Mavs thrashed the Timberwolves 4-1 in the WCF Playoff Finals series. Interestingly, Barkley has again gone against Doncic and the Mavs for his prediction regarding the NBA Finals.
In the Boston Celtics‘ NBA Finals showdown with the Dallas Mavericks this 2023-24 NBA season, Charles Barkley is rooting for the former. Barkley predicted the Celtics to win the NBA Finals on the “Inside the NBA” show, despite having seen the incredible performances of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic in game 5 against the Timberwolves.
I still haven’t seen anything to make me think the Celtics are not going to win the championship. … I think it’s gonna be a hell of a series but I like the Celtics. On the Inside the NBA show, Charles Barkley said
However, one may argue over Barkley’s prediction after watching what Donic and Irving have been doing for the Mavs this season.
On the sports side, both the Celtics and the Mavs have performed extremely well this season. The Celtics clean swept the Indiana Pacers 4-0 in the ECF Playoff Finals. On the other hand, the Mavs annihilated the Timberwolves 4-1 in the WCF Playoff Finals. It remains to be seen now, who comes out on top in the NBA Finals among the two strong sides this season.
Shaquille O’Neal goes against Charles Barkley for NBA Finals Prediction
The Dallas Mavericks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves and clinched a place in the NBA Finals. After the Mavs’ win, the topic of the NBA Finals prediction was in full swing on the Inside the NBA show. NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley led the predictions, with Barkley and the majority of the crew making their intentions clear by choosing the Celtics to win over the Mavs.
Contrary to common opinion, O’Neal supported the Mavericks to win the Finals, providing a different viewpoint. Luka Doncic’s composure and professionalism were acknowledged by O’Neal. He also underlined the challenge Doncic poses to the Celtics and the necessity for Boston’s players, especially Jayson Tatum to stay out of foul trouble.
The stage is set for the two giants in this season’s NBA Finals. With elite players on their rosters for both teams, this battle will undoubtedly be interesting to watch. The dynamic pair of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown of the Celtics will be aiming to win their first NBA championship. However, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, the star duo of the Mavs, will indeed be motivated to win the trophy in front of their supporters.
