Despite spreading insensitive Karl-Anthony Towns rumor, Warriors star says ‘Draymond Green Show must go on’
Draymond Green doubles down on his stance that Karl-Anthony Towns is avoiding the smoke from his new teammate, Jimmy Butler.

Draymond Green says he is sorry for KAT's loss, but the show must go on
Recently, GSW’s Draymond “Flagrant 2” Green made some remarks on his beloved podcast that caught everybody’s ears. In the latest installment of The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis, the four-time champion alleged that the Knicks’ Karl-Anthony Towns was dodging Golden State’s latest Warrior, Jimmy Butler.
These comments come following KAT’s absence from the lineup against the Warriors last Tuesday. However, Towns made it apparent that the leave was due to the loss of a close family friend of his girlfriend to cancer.
Naturally, most of the NBA community interpreted these comments as highly insensitive, considering the timing of it all. Nonetheless, the 35-year-old doubled down today on his stance, saying he wasn’t aware of the real reason behind KAT missing the game, so, the show must go on.
Oh, man. That’s unfortunate. I’m sorry to hear that. That sucks, But my comments that I made, was that ‘people I heard was this. And that’s what I heard.’ So I do send my well wishes to him and his family… We all experience death in one way or another, and we’ll all experience it in the same way one day. So it’s unfortunate. You never wish that on anybody, But the Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis must go on.

KAT had missed the game because his girlfriend, Jordyn Woods, lost her mother’s friend to cancer. So, being the pillar of support in her time of need, he couldn’t participate in the match. Draymond Green, on the other hand, implied that the rumors suggested it probably had something to do with him ducking Butler. Clearly, Green’s new teammate has been in his ear since the trade, and they seem to be trading stories and getting along already.
While most fans found his grinning and remarks offensive, others are running with the narrative. The rumors are that Butler and Towns’ beef dates back to 2018 season, when they both were teammates in Minnesota.
NBA Insider Chris Broussard backs Draymond Green’s comments
While on Fox Sports 1’s First Things First, senior NBA insider and sports analyst Chris Broussard concurred with Green’s theory, buying into the narrative that Karl-Anthony Towns might have been afraid of the confrontation.

You know, KAT missed the last game against Golden State, Jimmy Butler and Steph and those guys and Draymond said the word is, what’s out there, the scuttlebutt that he didn’t wanna play against Jimmy Butler cause of what Jimmy Butler did.

Calling out the obvious elephant in the room, Chris Broussard stressed how the iron is still hot and the beef is more sizzling than ever. He referenced how everybody keeps mentioning the infamous practice in Minnesota when the two went back and forth at each other. While on Podcast P with Paul George, KAT even opened up and painted the whole picture of that infamous practice that started it all.
