At only 27 years old, Jayson Tatum has already established himself as one of the NBA’s finest players. He has already won an NBA title and has made the All-Star team multiple times. Notably, Tatum was selected in this season’s NBA All-Star as well. However, it was his son, Deuce, who stole the headlines amongst the NBA community.
It’s important to note that former NBA player Kevin Garnett has a close bond with Tatum. Given that, Garnett was present at this year’s NBA All-Star and met his son, Deuce, in the process. The meet-up quickly turned hilarious as Deuce told Garnett something he did not expect. Per a viral X post, Deuce told Garnett that his dad, Jaysum Tatum could not make a single shot during the Dunk Contest.
My daddy couldn’t do any of those dunks.

In addition, Deuce has made himself quite a name amongst the Celtics fanbase. He has a good fan following on social media because of his hilarious nature and wholesome bond with his dad, Jayson Tatum.
Aside from this, Garnett has always advised Tatum about different opinions regarding his NBA career. He led the Boston Celtics to the NBA title in 2024 and has continued to dominate in the 2024-25 season. Tatum has averaged 26.8 points (eighth-best in the league), 8.7 rebounds, and 5.7 assists, with a plus-minus of +7.3, all of which are team highs.
Tatum’s exceptional accomplishments have garnered him the respect of pundits and previous players such as Garnett. In addition, he has established himself as one of the NBA’s strongest young players.
Jayson Tatum made a huge Lakers rivalry admission
The Boston Celtics won their 46th game of their regular season on Saturday night, overcoming their greatest and most despised foe, the Los Angeles Lakers, 111-101. After the match, Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum addressed the media and had a different stance when questioned about the Boston- Los Angeles rivalry.

The matchup is bound to mean something, especially if the two clubs have a history of rivalry or meet in the NBA Finals for the championship. These two teams may face off in the finals. Maybe not for this season, but maybe for many more if things work out between the two teams. It will be interesting to watch how the 2024-25 NBA season progresses.
