Devin Booker breaks another scoring record
The Phoenix Suns came off their consecutive win against the Los Angeles Clippers to put them up 4-1 for the season. The Suns rallied the 125-119 victory after being down by as much as 21 points in the Clipper’s new arena, the Intuit Dome. Devin Booker, who poured in a 40-piece in the win, became the arena’s highest scorer.
The Suns star had been an absolute tear to start the season. This recent outing marked his fourth straight game with 20+ points early in the season.
Booker impressively recorded his 40 points with just 18 shot attempts, of which he converted 11 of them, good enough for 61% from the field.
The Suns guard is no stranger to breaking scoring records in the league. Booker is one of the ten players to score 70 points in an NBA game. He had also racked up four other arena scoring records, marking the Intuit Dome his fifth time setting the record.
His single-game scoring in five different arenas also includes his 70 points at TD Garden, 62 points at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, 58 points at Footprint Center, and 59 points at Delta Center. Booker also holds the record for the only player in the league to score 30 points in every current NBA arena.

On another note, the Suns are burning on a heater lately to start the season. The team has now won every match except for their loss against the Los Angeles Lakers, whom they’ve beaten on their second meeting following two 30 points performances from Booker and Kevin Durant.
Phoenix Suns’ title hope ignited behind Devin Booker and Kevin Durant
Following their win against the Clippers, the Suns placed themselves at the second spot of the Western Conference. The team is currently behind the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The team hugely benefitted from their off-season moves. Rookie Ryan Dunn has turned out to be a steal of the Draft, pouring in 16 points and 4 3-pointers himself for their recent win. Recruits like Tyus Jones and Mason Plumlee have also been instrumental in contributing to the new-look Suns.
Durant and Booker are combining 43 points per outing for the team, which is a positive sign moving forward for the team as they await Bradley Beal’s return, who has been in and out of the lineup for the after his right elbow injury earlier in the season. Barring any other setback besides Beal’s injury, the team is looking to push for the top of the Western Conference.
