Ryan Garcia has had an interesting approach while promoting his fight against Devin Haney. This started before the negotiation of the fight was even successful. Both fighters have an intense rivalry since they have been amateur boxing rivals. However, beyond their rivalry, Garcia’s antics have been quite strange.

This can be seen from his spree of erratic social media posts, conspiracy theories, or his callouts to celebrities and fighters. Most of this can be interrupted as a tactic to garner more attention for his title fight. However, his actions did raise concerns about his mental health. Furthermore, most people, including Devin Haney, think he is not taking the fight seriously. This can be seen in the DAZN interview, where Haney stated:

During the interview, Garcia spoke about his musical skills and stated that he might sing while fighting Haney. KingRy then offered to freestyle a song on top and started tapping a beat with his hands and feet. He then began to mumble some lyrics while The Dream looked at him with a poker face. After a while, he mentioned that he doesn’t believe his opponent is taking the fight seriously.

However, Garcia has repeatedly claimed that people shouldn’t be worried about him since he has been training diligently. Furthermore, KingRy has emphasized that he has been taking the fight seriously. Garcia is not just confident about himself, and he has proclaimed that he will hurt Haney inside the ring.

As such, Garcia’s promoter, Golden Boy Promotions’ Oscar De la Hoya, gave an estimate of Garcia’s potential payday for his bout against Haney. He revealed that ‘KingRy’ has earned $30 million from his recent fights.
