The Ryan Garcia vs. Devin Haney fight has managed to shock fans across the buildup, during the fight, and now after the fight. Initially, it was Garcia’s antics that caused people to assume the fight would be canceled. However, KingRy shocked everyone by defeating Haney. Subsequently, Garcia tested positive for PEDs in a VADA test. This might result in a no-contest. Moreover, the allegation also resulted in Haney lose interest in a rematch.
After losing against Garcia, Haney demanded that KingRy give the fans a fair fight. This referred to how KingRy had a weight advantage ahead of the fight. Furthermore, because of this weight advantage, Garcia could not secure the WBC super-lightweight title even after his victory.

The Dream has fought Garcia six times as an amateur and once as a professional boxer. While he was interested in continuing the rivalry after his defeat, he appears to have lost interest after Garcia cheated. According to Haney, this proved that KingRy would go to any means to secure his victory.
He even accused Ryan Garcia of putting his life in jeopardy by using unfair means inside the ring and mentioned how brutal boxing is as a sport.
Eddie Hearn speaks about Ryan Garcia’s drug test
Haney’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, was quite sad to hear that Garcia tested positive because of what it means for the sport. He remarked how he has been in this situation with Conor Benn and is interested to see how Oscar De la Hoya will handle the situation.
Furthermore, he mentioned that he spoke to Haney after the news about Garcia testing positive went viral. The promoter also revealed that Dream wants the fight to be a no-contest because of this development. This means that Haney will still have an undefeated record.
In addition, Haney feels like he was taken for a ride because his opponent had the advantage in terms of weight and PEDs. Hearn also mentioned that Garcia’s innocence is yet to be proven.
