Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney’s fight week has started with only 3 days left for their fight. Things have been quite heated between them throughout the buildup to the match. This was seen through their exchange on social media and at the press conference. Furthermore, with the fight right around the corner, the animosity was palpable during their recent face-off on top of the Empire State Building.
This was not uncommon for the two fighters since they had already had a face-off during the Super Bowl. However, at the time, KingRy was able to shove Haney after calling his father a pimp. The Dream did not forget this or any of Garcia’s several other comments about him. This resulted in a face-off where Haney shoved him away.
Garcia had arrived at the venue earlier and was quite riled up. He even got into verbal altercations with media members at the venue, where he began to threaten to “f***’ somebody up” after they were yelling negative comments. Garcia had done the same thing during the press conference too.
After this, he waited for Haney on top of the Empire State Building, as The Dream was late for their face-off. This might have further agitated Garcia. The moment Haney arrived on the roof, both of them locked eyes with each other.
Garcia threatens to sue Haney and identifies as a trans woman
The theatrics of their face-off did not just end there because Garcia took to social media to further antagonize Haney. Without his antics on social media, the fight would surely not feel the same. As such, just like his previous strange social media posts, Garcia threatened to sue Haney and bizarrely identified himself as a woman.
Of course, Garcia was not happy about being shoved away and touched in the face. Hence, he brought it up by mentioning how Devin Haney touched him without his consent. Furthermore, the young boxer said that he identifies as a woman, which means a grown man touched a grown woman, according to him.
In addition, Ryan Garcia mentioned that he is part of the LGBTQ+ community, which also makes this a hate crime. KingRy is surely just promoting the fight in the most hilarious and bizarre way.
