The combat sports community kept a keen eye as Ryan Garcia met WBC world super lightweight champion Devin Haney. Their DAZN Exclusive bout at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., has had quite the build-up. There were many concerns with Garcia’s mental health and Haney keeping his fortitude intact in the face of that. However, by the looks of it, ‘King Ry’ isn’t over with the mocking.

Devin ‘The Dream’ Haney had an undefeated record until yesterday. He faced defeat for the first time in his career en route to a majority decision skid. Garcia outpointed him 115-109, 114-110, and 112-112 on the judges’ scorecards. Moreover, he knocked him down thrice throughout the match. Later, taking to X (@RyanGarcia / X), he informed fans that Haney supposedly broke his jaw. It did not take much time for Haney to respond.

Alhamdulillah Allah is the perfect planner he makes no mistakes.. fought like a true champion. Got up off the canvas & kept fighting. I am 100% ok & would love to do it again while we both make weight...[in a different Tweet] I have no broken anything btw way like i said I'm Ok...

Devin Haney debunked the assessment. He also took a sly jab at Garcia making weight next time if they were to rematch. Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) didn’t win the title because he came in 3.2 pounds over the limit (143.2 lbs). Accordingly, he has agreed to pay a mandatory bracket of $1.5 million in compensation. For now, Haney retains his WBC super lightweight world title strap and looks forward to a rematch.

While respectful of such a rematch at first, Garcia later cast a shadow of doubt on it. Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis is another name whom Garcia could potentially face. However, deciding to move up in weight, Garcia thinks neither Haney nor ‘Tank’ would be willing to rematch him again. Contrastingly, this wasn’t his only poke at Haney.

Ryan Garcia pokes fun at Devin Haney’s association with PRIME

Ryan Garcia put on the performance of his life against Devin Haney. While he didn’t take the title strap home, he earned the satisfaction of dominantly defeating him. He wobbled the opponent hard in the very first round of their fight. ‘The Dream’ had to wearily pull himself up after subsequent knockdowns in the seventh, tenth, and eleventh rounds.

A viral imagery of Haney nursing his swollen cheekbone later piqued Garcia’s attention, who posted on it saying his jaw was broken. Haney debunked that rumor; this isn’t where the jibing commentary stops, though. Check what what else happened with ‘King Ry’ and his X account:

Garcia’s pre-fight antics on social media had become so audacious that Arnold Barboza Jr. was prematurely designated as Haney’s backup opponent. One such epic rant was against influencers Logan Paul and KSI’s $3.2 Billion venture – PRIME. As a typical mind game, Haney had soon after signed up as an affiliate with PRIME.

Now, Garcia alludes to that as a losing factor. Interestingly enough, PRIME had other top athletes losing out as soon as they signed on. Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski are “prime” examples; all puns are intended. It is quite evident Garcia isn’t backing away from his usual disposition. After his win, his confidence is at an all-time high. He has also expressed interest in facing top powerhouse Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis (31-0, 28 KOs) next.
