According to Devin Haney‘s attorney, Ryan Garcia‘s victory in the April 20 bout should be revoked, and Haney should be declared the winner. Furthermore, Haney’s attorney sent the NYSAC an official letter requesting that the commission disqualify Garcia and declare ‘The Dream’ as the winner. This matter started after the VADA announced that KingRy tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine.
The test samples were taken on April 19 and 20. Subsequently, Ostarine is a banned substance in sports due to its performance-enhancing properties. Garcia has asked for testing of his ‘B’ sample, and those results are expected by May 22. However, before the young boxer has proven his innocence, Haney’s attorney has requested that the fight be a no-contest.

Haney’s attorney brought up how Garcia has admitted that he weighed in extra to have an advantage. Furthermore, he stated that since there wasn’t a second-day weigh-in, it was difficult to discern his actual weight in the fight. Garcia has personally claimed that he weighed in at around 160 pounds on fight night.
Hence, by considering these factors, Haney’s attorney believes that Ryan Garcia should be disqualified before the B sample is even examined. He justified this by mentioning how the fight has affected Haney’s professional boxing record. This means that if the fight becomes a no-contest, Haney will remain undefeated.
Ryan Garcia reacts to Devin Haney’s attorney letter
The young boxer was in disbelief after seeing the letter and stated that you can’t make things up like this. Furthermore, Garcia has firmly claimed that he is innocent and did not consume any steroids. In addition, he is actively trying to clear his name with the B sample and has already proved that he did not consume norandrosterone metabolite.
Garcia even offered Haney a rematch to redeem himself, but The Dream doesn’t seem to be interested in one anymore. Subsequently, Garcia has now demanded that Haney pay him back his money if the fight becomes a no-contest.
The amount that KingRy spoke about is the $1.5 million that he paid to Haney after failing to make weight. Since Haney’s attorney brought up this matter as a justification for the fight to be canceled, he believes he should be paid back the amount.
