On Sunday (October 5), the National Football League saw the last two teams with a perfect record lose their winning streaks. The Denver Broncos came through in the last-minute and overpowered the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles’ offense had a promising performance in terms of the passing game. Jalen Hurts threw 23-of-38 for 280 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, the best game from him in the season so far. However, it was far from enough to secure a win at home.

The QB even took responsibility for the loss, although he couldn’t tell anyone what the issue was. He pointed out that there was a lack of execution and a sense of urgency in the squad and that he’s trying to find solutions for.

I can’t tell you what the issue is. Ultimately, I can take accountability for everything and take responsibility for it all. The lack of execution, the lack of the sense of urgency. I take responsibility for all of it, and I’m just trying to find solutions for it.

DeVonta Smith also had his best day of the season so far. He recorded more than 100 receiving yards for the first time in the season, catching eight of his ten targets for 113 yards and no touchdowns. Still, despite the strong individual numbers, there’s a sense that something isn’t quite clicking within the offense.

Smith mentioned that the signals are misfiring, and the chemistry isn’t in Philadelphia right now. However, he added that it’s not because of Hurts or a lack of effort.

Jalen has a lot on his mind when he’s trying to work on protection and things. There’s times when we’re looking at him and he may give a signal before or after we look, and ultimately we have to be on the same page.

The chemistry being off would be a simple way to put the last-minute drama when the Eagles missed out on a chance to win the game in the end zone. Smith and his fellow wideout, AJ Brown, who has been vocal about the lack of opportunities, had what the media has called an embarrassing entanglement.

Jalen Hurts reportedly doesn’t know what DeVonta Smith was talking about

The Philadelphia Eagles’ ten-game win streak is history. The unbreakable champions finally met the threshold point and revealed their mistakes and flaws. The picture isn’t perfect, but they are willing to learn from the mistakes.

Hurts was asked about what DeVonta Smith referred to as the lack of chemistry, which is being on the same page. He was firm in his response, stating that he had no idea what his teammate was referring to.

The QB called for a film review and admitted that if there’s anything that stands out, they will iron them and grow from there.

I’d have to ask him what he’s referring to because I don’t remember any of those things happening. But again, if I watch the film and something comes up, that’ll be something that we can talk about and grow from.

They have very little time, though. The Eagles face divisional rivals, New York Giants, on Thursday. Though the Giants are 1-4 in the season, they can still create trouble for the Eagles. Last week, the Giants got the better of a then perfect Los Angeles Chargers in the rookie Jaxson Dart’s first start. A few steps wrong and the Eagles can quickly fall from grace.
