Contrary to what Caitlin Clark had expected for herself in the WNBA, she seems to have a target on her back. And now it has gotten intense since Saturday’s matchup between Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky, as it witnessed a foul from the opponent’s guard.
Although the intensity of the match was palpable from start to finish, things took a critical turn late in the third quarterback. The Sky’s guard Chennedy Carter aimed to cut the Fever lead to four by attempting a midrange jump shot, when Clark went after the inbound pass.

But before she could succeed with the pass, Carter mouthed “b**tch” to Clark and lowered her shoulder into her to make her knock over the ground. As Carter’s move was saved from being a dirty play, she refused to discuss the foul or Clark.
Interestingly, Carter was Angel Reese’s teammate, who is known as a longtime rival of Clark. Given, that Clark has a reputation for transforming women’s basketball, her debut in the WNBA speaks high volumes and intense media attention– which seemed to have made her opponents envious, hence the serious blows from them.
Dez Bryant advised Caitlin Clark to embrace the media spotlight
Highlighting the media attention on Clark as a conclusion to Saturday’s match foul play, the Baltimore Ravens WR Dez Bryant attempted to put a positive spin on the whole thing, as he expressed his desire to see Clark thrive. He also blamed the media for the Fever’s star having a back on her shoulder in her rookie year.

If I was CC [Caitlin Clark] I would embrace the attention…I’ll embrace all of the noise...CC dealing with problems she didn’t ask for.. btw I’ll blame a lot of that on media for how her peers view her…. at the end of the day it’s all apart of the game… if CC can find the right mindset going about everything she’s facing.. she’s in the perfect position for greatness.Dez Bryant wrote on X
Bryant gave a piece of wise advice to the No. 1 draft pick to get accustomed to the dealings of the world, where she must use all the attention that she is receiving after breaking the NCAA record for most points scored in college basketball, in her advantage and thrive as she deserves.
