Megan Thee Stallion’s twerking at Kamala Harris’ rally at the Georgia State Convocation Center in Atlanta didn’t click with Dez Bryant. The former NFL wide receiver called it a ‘slap in the face of the Black community.’
After Joe Biden stepped down from the race for the President of the United States of America, the Democrats appointed Kamala Harris as their new face. She chose Atlanta as her first stop to connect with the Black community.
Harris invited Megan Thee Stallion, a three-time Grammy winner and a popular face among the community and Gen Z, to provide some entertainment for the crowd. Wearing a cropped blazer and button-down shirt, skin-tight bottoms, and a necktie, Megan and her dancer crew rocked the ‘Girls in the Hood’ and ‘Mamushi.’
She did her best to censor out some of the lyrics of the song but twerked in front of the audience. This act did not go down well with a lot of people in the Black community.
Now I know my ladies in the crowd love their bodies. And you want to keep loving your body. You know who to vote for!Megan Thee Stallion said
After a few moves, Megan announced that she appealed to the crowd to vote for Kamala Harris, calling her the first ‘Black Female President’ of the USA.
We’re about to make history with the first female president. The first Black female president! Let’s get this done!Megan Thee Stallion said

This did not go down well. Renowned political social media handle @Globethotter aka Brian McLight pointed out the sentiments surrounding the entire event.
Seeing black people call Kamala [Harris’s] Atlanta rally ‘ghetto’ is crazy. So many of you claim to be proudly black, but still care very deeply about white acceptance.Brian McLight wrote

Dez Bryant called out Megan Thee Stallion for twerking at Kamala Harris’ rally in Atlanta
Dez Bryant came across McLight’s tweet and shared his thoughts on the matter. While he did not mention Megan Thee Stallion’s name, he did highlight twerking, and in his view, the audience appeared to be uncomfortable.
The former Dallas Cowboys wideout pointed out her act was a ‘slap in the face of the Black community.’
I think it’s a slap in the face to black people who fight for our voice in America... The crowd looked uncomfortable... Have some integrity. Twerking at a rally is wrong... We'll never be taken seriously. You basically said the black people who prefer class and professionalism care about acceptance from white people.Dez Bryant wrote on X
