Dez Bryant has been keeping an eye on the WNBA scene which has been heating up with the inclusion of Caitlin Clark. However, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese doesn’t believe it’s a one-woman show.

According to SportsNaut, the jump in viewership of the women’s basketball league has been clear as daylight. The opening-day doubleheader saw 1.5 million people tuning in to watch the Indiana Fever play, which was a 143% increase compared to 2023.

Saturday, June 1 matchup between the Fever and New York Liberty topped the opening day viewership with 1.7 million eyes logging in to watch Sabrina Ionescu take on Caitlin Clark.

Despite the positives, a few don’t believe Clark is the sole reason for the sudden boom of the WNBA viewership. At the top of the queue is Angel Reese and Dez Bryant agreed with her.

While fans may be led to believe that Reese and Clark’s college-era feud was over which is far from the truth. The 22-year-old’s gleeful response to teammate Chennedy Carter’s intentional shove on Clark was enough to clarify her standpoint.

Reese spoke with the media after the game. She asserted that every player has played their part in uplifting the Women’s game. She believes that people tune in to watch here as well as Clark.

It all started from the National Championship game. I'll look back in 20 years and be like the reason why we're watching women's basketball is not just because of one person. It's because of me, too.

The former Cowboys wide receiver, Dez Bryant retweeted the interview with his word of approval, saying “Facts.”

Dez Bryant blamed the media for creating tension in the WNBA

Shortly after supporting Reese, Bryant questioned the reason behind only focusing on the part of the speech that would paint her in a negative light.

Chicago’s Carter was later penalized as the league committee viewed the challenge as illegal. Even Reese was subjected to a $1000 fine for her behavior per USA Today.

Even though Clark is one of the reasons fans have turned up for the games, Bryant claimed media intentionally created tension that has backed the Iowa graduate into a corner.

The multiple times Pro Bowler, praised Clark for keeping her composure and handling the situation like a true professional.

Regardless, of the controversies and blame games, it’s an opportunity for the players to thrive. They should utilize all the attention and show the fans that they are here to stay.
