Did Sheamus leave WWE?
United States Champion Sheamus
Irish professional wrestler Stephen Farrelly, better known by his ring name ‘Sheamus’, made his debut in WWE in 2009. His rivalry with Goldust, and later with Shelton Benjamin have established him as a great heel. However, a heel Sheamus attacking the babyface of the company John Cena has helped the Irish superstar to gain huge momentum. His intriguing rivalry with Cena gives provides him with the opportunity to put his hands on the WWE Championship. This 1.91 m tall wrestler grabs that opportunity with both hands as he defeats Cena on a 13 December TLC pay-per-view to become the first Irish-born WWE Championship holder.
On 21 February 2010, he loses his title in an Elimination Chamber match where Triple H has successfully eliminated the WWE Champion. This sets up a long-running rivalry with Triple H, in which Sheamus stands tall at the end. He was part of two famous villainous stables in his career, and those are ‘The Bar’, and ‘The League of Nation’. But recently, audiences are not able to see him on-screen or live WWE events. So the question arises whether he has taken retirement from wrestling or not. In this article, we are going to get some important details about his current conditions.
Find out whether Sheamus has left WWE
In an Interview with Alex McCarthy, the veteran talks about the rumors on his retirement. He states, “The truth is, I wasn’t ready to be done. There are things that pop into your head, like doubts and that saying ‘I might be done’. I got back to that question just after ‘Mania and I felt I was kind of burnt out too.” ‘The Celtic warrior also opines,”I’ve worked on fine tuning my body, I’m working on stuff that needs to be strengthened and I’m working on my weak points”. This is evident of his intentions to return to WWE after a neck injury. He did return in the middle part of 2020. But nowadays, he seems to disappear from WWE again.
In March 2021,’The Celtic warrior’, during his WWE United States Championship match against Matt Riddle, has suffered a blow on his nose. He has to go through nose surgery in June to cure his broken nose. In an Instagram post, on 20 September 2021, he shares a picture of his broken nose. This puts him out of action for a long time, but he returns with a face mask.
He also wrestles a few matches with that mask on but has not been able to carry long. He goes through another surgery in September. This time, the wrestling company denies taking any risk and has given this wrestler time to recover fully. And that is the reason Sheamus is nowadays not appearing in any show of WWE. He has not left WWE at all. We, the wrestling fans, can only send our best wishes to him and wait for his epic return in WWE.
