It seems like WWE has rained on Logan Paul‘s parade. During last night’s SmackDown broadcast, the company announced that it’ll host a Raw on Netflix kickoff show this coming Wednesday at the WWE headquarters in Connecticut. With just over three weeks left before the Netflix premiere of Raw, WWE has been promoting the big event in media circles every now and then.

The Superstars advertised to grace the kickoff event include Cody Rhodes, Gunther, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Solo Sikoa, Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and Logan Paul. That last name has indeed caught some fans off guard. Why’s that so? It’s because merely a day prior to that, Paul proclaimed that he’s retired from wrestling on his IMPAULSIVE podcast.

The 29-year-old said he’s now a father to a three-month-old baby girl. Paul had previously been cynical about his WWE status heading into WrestleMania 41. However, by no means did anyone think that he’d outright say he’s done being a wrestler for WWE.

In fact, earlier this year, when Paul had Dominik Mysterio on his talk show, The Maverick admitted that he’d had conversations with WWE CCO Triple H about having him around on a more frequent basis. Logan pitched to Mysterio that they might even form a tag team down the road. Those aspirations and Paul’s retirement bolt from the blue don’t line up.

As many are already guessing it, all of this seems like a marketing stunt that Logan had intended to pull off. However, with WWE adding him to the star-studded list of guests for Raw on Netflix kickoff show, Paul’s attempt at swindling his audience into believing that he’s not going to return to WWE may have just been busted.

Does WWE have any plans in the pipeline for Logan Paul?

Logan Paul did not go heavy with his schedule in 2024. He competed in a total of seven matches, a couple of which came on SmackDown. In August, at SummerSlam, he lost the United States Championship to LA Knight, ending his reign at 272 days.

Considering that Paul’s retirement claims are nothing but a red herring, he could be in for a newsworthy 2025. Per a recent report, WWE is very interested in having the older of the Paul Brothers do a segment with boxing great Mike Tyson at WrestleMania 41.

Apart from that, Logan is also being considered for a marquee match with John Cena as part of his upcoming WWE retirement tour. Both Paul and Cena are on board with it. However, some stars need to align for it to happen.
