The former Brazilian striker chose to represent Spain in the 2014 World Cup and has played for them ever since

The Spanish striker was contracted until June 2021 to play for the Spanish capital team. Now due to personal reasons the striker and club have parted ways. This would mean that the 32 year old is a free agent going into 2021 and clubs like Chelsea or Arsenal can snap him up.

Club and player part mutually according to statement of club

Atletico Madrid released a media statement that read that the striker had signed the termination of his contract and wished their best. The striker is now available to be signed by any club on a free transfer with certain clubs needing a striker more than necessary. This season the Spanish striker has played 7 La Liga games and has scored twice.

Diego Costa was a youth player of Atletico Madrid and scored 43 goals in 94 matches for the club from 2010 to 2014. He was signed by Chelsea in 2014 for £34.2 million and went on to play 120 times for them and score 58 times.
