Diego Sanchez offers Dan Hardy ‘warrior’s death’ in Twitter rant, Hardy fires back
Sanchez had his Twitter fingers running late Wednesday, sending out a number of messages that included what appeared to be callouts of fighters Conor McGregor, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone, Demian Maia, and Dan Hardy.
It’s Hardy who received much of the attention, he’s lining up a number of potential opponents for himself. Sanchez told the former welterweight contender-turned-UFC analyst, “Dan, just ask, I’ll give you the warrior’s death you desire.”
Sanchez’s other callouts on Twitter
The 38-year-old Hardy, who hasn’t competed since September 2012, has said on multiple occasions that he would still like to fight again before officially announcing a retirement.
Hardy did not exactly welcome the challenge; rather, Hardy questioned whether Sanchez was in need of mental help and also took a shot at Sanchez’s work with controversial coach Joshua Fabia.
“You’re a funny guy, [Diego]… I can’t help but feel bad laughing at you though when it’s clear that you need a serious psychological evaluation,” Hardy wrote. “Was calling me out your own idea, or did you get help from that mystical yoga teacher guy that you keep in your pocket?” Hardy replied.
Sanchez most recently fought at UFC 253 in September, losing a unanimous decision to Jake Matthews. He is 3-2 in his past five fights, including a disqualification win over Michel Pereira.
Here are some of Sanchez’s other callouts and plus assorted comments that the 18-year MMA veteran wrote Wednesday evening.
