WWE has been on its hottest streak in many years. It looks like stars are satisfied, along with fans, and that has been beneficial for the company. However, that has not been the case for a few stars, including Dijak. WWE unexpectedly chose not to extend the contract of the former NXT star after they called him up on the main roster. Now, the 37-year-old star has finally broken his silence over the plans prior to him parting ways with WWE.
While speaking with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Dijak revealed that he was told to compete on WWE Main Event. He expressed that initially, everything was positive. However, a few days later, he received a text to work on the show. The 37-year-old went on to say that a writer told him that Triple H had plans for him. However, him working on Main Event was a sign that WWE had no interest in extending his contract and chose to part ways.
It was a Saturday, I got a text from my writer, ‘Hey we have you on Main Event.’ The second I saw that, I’m like, ‘F*ck.’ I know what that means. That’s not an opportunity, that’s a death sentence.Dijak
‘Main Event’ is the fourth weekly show by WWE that airs on Hulu. It is known for being a weekly revision of the ongoing storylines, and it features talent who are rarely featured on either Raw or SmackDown. Therefore, Dijak referred to being called up on the show “death sentence” as it might have been the final nail in the coffin of his WWE run.
Moreover, the former NXT star teased making a debut at AEW Forbidden Door last week. However, that was not the case, as he made his debut on the indie scene. His release was heavily criticized by the fans, as he was doing well on NXT. Hence, it is going to be interesting to see where the future of the star goes from here on.
Chad Gable gave a reference to Dijak on Raw following his release
This week on Raw, Chad Gable came out to address Jey Uso and the WWE Universe. He talked about himself and his feats in WWE in recent weeks. However, one of the key highlights of his promo was his reference to Dijak. He used his iconic catchphrase, which quickly got a reaction from the fans.
Gable promised that he was going to win the Money in the Bank ladder match, which is certainly going to be a “feast for the eyes.” It was a catchphrase primarily used by the 37-year-old star during his days on NXT. Following that, the former NXT star quickly went on to respond and acknowledge the respect shown by the former leader of the Alpha Academy.
Dijak added that Chad was one of the most underrated stars on the roster. Speaking of the latter, he will be participating in the aforementioned Money in the Bank Ladder Match this Saturday in Toronto. However, he will also be on the lookout for the Wyatt Sicks faction, which has targeted him since their debut.
