There is no doubt that Dillon Brooks has been a revelation for the Phoenix Suns this season. The Suns are coming off a 126-113 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Mortgage Matchup Center on Friday night. Brooks has emerged as the club’s leader this season and has helped them remain competitive in the absence of key players.

With Devin Booker ruled out for the last four games and Jalen Green making only five appearances this season, Dillon Brooks has stepped up to the plate and is averaging almost 30 points since Booker’s injury. The Suns forward has shown significant growth, especially on the offensive end, this season. He is currently averaging a career-high 21.1 points to go along with 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

After the trade of Kevin Durant in the offseason, many believed that the Suns were hitting the reset button and would end up in the lottery this year. However, Brooks’ performances this season have seen him grow into one of the best two-way players in the league, and both fans and analysts have warmed up to the idea of Brooks earning his maiden All-Star appearance down the line.

Following the win on Friday, the Suns extended their winning streak to three games. The win improved their record to 30-19 as they currently find themselves in seventh place in the Western Conference standings. Led by Brooks, they remain in strong contention for a direct playoff qualification as they are tied in games with the sixth-seeded Los Angeles Lakers.

Over the last few years, several active NBA players have started their own podcasts. Draymond Green was one of the first players to do so and termed it the “New media,” as it would provide the players a platform to write their own narratives and get closer to the fans, rather than the narratives created by the TV media. Another player who has been successful with his podcast is Paul George.

Brooks made an appearance on American YouTuber N3on‘s live stream and was upfront with his thoughts about active players having podcasts.

I be getting on dudes that want to do the podcast grind while they’re still playing. They’re all terrible. He (Green) talk too much. They’re not good because it’s so focused on [podcasts].

After Brooks’ shots at the two stars, it is expected that Green will have something to say about this on The Draymond Green Show. Brooks has never shied away from feuds, and it is a bit hilarious to see the Suns forward taking shots at Green, after the Warriors star had praised Brooks for his performances this season.

Dillon Brooks calls LeBron James the most overrated player in the NBA

LeBron James and Brooks have clashed a few times over the last few years. They have gone head-to-head three times this season, with Brooks coming out on top twice. During their matchups, the two have gone at it with each other and have had a few heated exchanges. Their battles with each other has created a bit of a rivalry between them.

During the live stream, Brooks took another shot at the four-time champion when asked to name the most overrated player in the NBA today.

I’ll probably say LeBron right now. I feel like he overrated right now. I feel like his time is coming to an end. He gotta pass that on to one of our World guys. Like a Luka [Doncic] or Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander].

This is not the first time Brooks has taken shots at James, and it certainly won’t be the last. They will clash two more times this season as their next meeting will be on February 26.

Draymond Green was unhappy when Paul George stopped his podcast

George has had his share of struggles since moving to the Philadelphia 76ers last season. He has gone through injuries and poor form in the last two years with the franchise. Hence, the 76ers forward decided to hit pause on the show to focus on his game.

Green said he was officially taking George out of his top three NBA podcasters.  He praised George’s personality and impact, but then expressed his disappointment,

I can’t put P in my top three no more, because as someone who went through a podcast and won a championship and took a beating for it all year. Like, you can’t quit, P. When the times get rough, you can’t gracefully bow out, P. You’ve got to keep pushing through the rough times, because this is what we do — we podcast, too.

It remains to be seen when George decides to resume Podcast P, but for now, he has to deal with his recent 25-game suspension for violating the league’s Anti-Doping Program.
