WATCH: Dillon Brooks disrespectfully barges through Devin Booker interview after USA beat Canada
Dillon Brooks and his side Team Canada were defeated by Team USA in the exhibition match.
Dillon Brooks barged through a Devin Booker interview
Dillon Brooks has been making headlines for all the unwanted reasons lately after his side, Team Canada’s loss to Team USA in the exhibition match at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Brooks was agitating the USA players on the floor and was upset about the loss, even deliberately walking in front of Devin Booker during his post-game interview to cut him short.
Also, before the USA-Canada matchup, Brooks made some comments regarding Team USA, telling them that “Canada will be ready.” This did not work out well for Brooks as he saw his side get defeated poorly by Team USA, even after Canada boasted players like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jamal Murray, and RJ Barrett.
Interestingly, Booker was a starter for Team USA in their exhibition win, scoring nine points on 4-6 shooting in 20 minutes of play. Brooks scored 10 points on 3-8 shooting from the field, including 4-5 at the free throw line. However, the on and off-the-court antiques did not work out for Brooks this time around, despite beating Team USA once in the FIBA Men’s Basketball World Cup.
In addition, Anthony Edwards scored a game-high 13 points, while Barrett led Canada with 12 points. It remains to be seen now how both the teams fair in the 2024 Paris Olympics, with top players looking to make a mark for their nations.
Dillon Brooks’ words did not make a difference in the USA-Canada matchup
Earlier, Dillon Brooks told journalists at a Team Canada practice in Las Vegas that he isn’t afraid to play against Team USA. Brooks also issued a basic caution that, regardless of their offensive prowess, players must be prepared to “play defense.” However, Brooks’ words made no difference against Team USA as he and his side were easily defeated by them.
I take it as another game, but me being who I am, I like to make a statement, so I’ll be ready to play. Team Canada will be ready to play, and we’re gonna go balls to the wall and watch the film after and see if we got better.Ahead of the USA-Canada match, Dillon Brooks had told the reporters
It’s worth noting that Brooks has become well-known for his off-court drama during his NBA career. However, it did not work out for Brooks this time as the USA side was too good to defend against in the exhibition match. It remains to be seen how Brooks and Co. perform in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
